Brussels – Comic state of Europe

It’s strange to be able to wake up in the smallest of beds, smile (because this tour is really happening to us), lie on the pillow for a few seconds, put on some clothes, and then realize that you’re in this bus with 12 other guys in the middle of the city centre of Belgium. Once outside, this huge venue called AB (2000 people capacity) appears in front of you. On both left and on the right side of the venue, there are comic stores. Is it really true? I know that Hergé (father of my favorite cartoon-hero Tintin) , Franquin (Spirou) and a whole bunch of cartoonists are belgian, but this was too good to be true. Pure nostalgia awakened, and I bought a compilation of three Tintin-stories (english, even though french is cool) and a ‘Tintin in Tibet’-postcard. This guy Tintin…

Good things I know about Brussels: Comics, Soulwax, 2ManyDJs

It was a hard concert for us. The doors opened at 19.00, we played 19.00. In a room for 2000. Not exactly 2000 made it till 19.00, but we had a great time playing. Thanks to the people showing up, especially these two guys singing their hearts out on ‘I Had To Tell You’. After the show we went to this crazy jazz-bar (used to be really high-class, but now suffer from shabby 90s sofa fabric), even so, I had an intresting discussion about tour life and belgian culture whilst drinking a Carlsberg. Good times.

We’ve been making some sweet demos on this tour, started selling them in Amsterdam. They look pretty good, and you can buy them at every show for 3 euros or £ 3. Please do so, they are limited and only for this tour.

Hey guys, we talked a little bit after the concert in Brussels and my brother gave you his demo. I totally loved your concert, eventhough it was still early. You guys are my revelation of the month (at least)! Probably, I will go and work in Oslo from november on, so hope to see you play some more in Norway! Good luck with the tour, love, Elisabeth

I’m one of these 2 guys in Brussels!!!
The New Wine, you’re great. You really have everything to transform a gig into a party!

Keep going on the way you’re busy!!
